Hi Guys, I've checked the archives and I fear there may be no answer to this. I'm trying to install 8.1 on a 40mb ram laptop. As has been stated in the past, ramdisk fails and the installation dies shortly after level 2 (just after drakX but before anything happens on tty5). Has anybody, therefore, been able to install either 8 or 8.1 on a Toshiba Satellite Pro with only 40mb? I've tried vgalo/text/text expert installs, but none of them work, ie. all fail at 2nd level. The machine is already running 8.0 so is there any feasable way of doing an upgrade on a "live" system, without going through RPM hell? Even though I'd have rather done a fresh install.
