on nvidia's site there are src rpm's as well as tgz.  i used the src rpm
and everything works great.  There is also a pdf file at the end of the
download page that will give you all the information you need about
building the src and what optional configurations perameters you can
configure.  it's really not that hard and my geforce 2 go card rocks.
