I originally tried in.telnetd and from the syslog that failed, so I tried telnetd thats also failing... If I could use ssh I would do, but it wont go thru the telnet proxy server here.. I 'll try erasing the file altogether and rewriting it, it would'nt be the first time a non displayed control character had got in..
