I am in the process of developing my own Linux distro to avoid the slowness of the recent Mandrake distro. 8.0 is too hard to upgrade (stable) and 8.1 is slow and unstable IMO. I do love the Mandrake distro though as it has taught me so much, but I think I'm out-growing it..
