-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm not sure if I need to remove a symbolic link. I have scd0 (linked to scsi/host0/bus0/target3/lun0/cd) shown in Konquerer as a member of Group cdwriter even though it's only a (SCSI-type) CDROM. I'm wondering if this is a reason why Mandrake 8.1 can't see my IDE CD burner (scd1) as a CDRW. scd1 is linked to scsi/host1/bus0/target0/lun0/cd. ide-scsi is loaded. There is a line in lilo: hdc=ide-scsi. (my CDRW is attached to the secondary IDE as a master) Both CD drives work as ROM drives but Gcombust can't identify the CDRW (it did find it in Mandrake 7.2). Maybe I just have to remove scd0 from the cdwriter group?
Also, the CDRW will mount, read-only, using either /dev/cdrom1 or /dev/scd1. Is this a conflict also? I tried the code shown in the CD-writer HOW-TO under section 2.1, also. When cdrecord -scanbus runs, it shows the following for my CD devices: scsibus0: . 0,0,3. 3) 'TEAC ' 'CD-ROM CD532S ' 1.0A' Removable CD-ROM scsibus1: . 1,0,0. 100) 'CREATIVE' 'CD-RW RW1210E ' 'LCS6' Removable CD-ROM -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGPfreeware 6.5.8 for non-commercial use <http://www.pgp.com> iQA/AwUBPCUE04woPKBUx8xQEQJT/gCg9mah7+EVA6p5npeKalzDb3f8OnEAn0d3 JWg35WmmqrlLFPpGwtlu4udb =c06v -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
