I've done dozens of kde upgrades, and I always put all the rpms in a directory by themselves an 'rpm -Uvh *'. Installing them altogether avoids needing to do it in order, and circular dependencies. I also upgrade (install) from my running current kde. BUT, that's how I do it, eveybody seems to have their own ideas ;) Since kde3 is a seperate install, I used 'rpm -ivh *' In answer to another post in this thread, I gave the link to Texstar's article. In re-reading it, I believe I did have to use 'rpm -ivh --nodeps --force *' as Texstar did also. Altho it pertains to his rpms on 8.1, you might wanna give the article and comments a read http://66.69.180.165:8080/article.php?sid=1000 and take a look at the rpms at ftp://ftp.eastwind.net/pub/mirrors/texstar/Mandrake-8.1-i686 in the kde 3.0 directory. You'll notice a lot of lib* rpms. So after I installed all the kde3 rpms, I did 'rpm --rebuilddb' and 'ldconfig -v' -- Tom Brinkman Corpus Christi, Texas, USA
