I've "played" with many an X-Term (NCD, and Techtronics). The software that you purchase is really jsut the operating system for the terminal. It's served up via tftp. It connects to the serer via standard XDMCP, which linux is capable of serving up. So to make a PC into a dumb terminal, doesn't require any extea software, it's all there, it's just a matter of configuing it. Getting a PC to act as an XDMCP client shouldn't be a big problem. You'd just need to configure xdm to go into broadcast mode at startup. I know it "can" be done. But it's been a while since I've messed with XDM on Linux. If anyone has the configuration in their hip pocket, send it along. Piero; If no answers arrive, I'll dig into it, and work it out with you. It would be a fun excersize. :) -- Ric Tibbetts Linux registration number: 55684 If you want to help advertise Linux - point your friends to http://counter.li.org/
