Hi!

Some ideas:

1) add something like this to /etc/lilo.conf
append=" hdc=ide-scsi "
see below:
image=/boot/vmlinuz-2.4.8-26mdk
        label=linux
        root=/dev/hdb5
        initrd=/boot/initrd-2.4.8-26mdk.img
        append=" hdc=ide-scsi devfs=mount "
        read-only

2) assure that SG driver is installed

#modprobe sg
