I configured a new HP OfficeJet G55 Series printer
using the MCC config wizard. I chose the printer from
the list and printed the test page successfully.

I then started webmin and defined the samba printer
share, made it writeable, printable, and useable by
everyone.

I then went to my Win2000 client machines and added
the printer. I used the Add Printer wizard for this. I
was able to find the printer on the network and
initially configure it. A pop-up then prompted me with
this:

"The server does not have the proper drivers installed
for this printer. Do you want to install drivers now?"
With an ok and a cancel button available.

I used the Windows install disk that came with the
printer to install drivers for the printer locally on
each client machine (3 of them). The printer then
showed up in the printers folder on each client. I
tried printing a test page from each client and all of
them failed. I get the error "Access denied" I checked
to make sure the printer had permissions set for each
user, again setting the access to available to
everyone.

The client machines all still report the printer as
unavailable: access denied. I'm guessing I handled the
driver situation incorrectly. Can someone please help
me troubleshoot this? I've read the complete samba
HOW-TO and have as of yet been unable to find the
proper solution.

Thanks,

Ken
