Not to help, just to chime in: In order for me to copy from email (Kmail) to browser (usually Opera) [to avoid use of Konqueror] I FIRST must erase anything in the loc. bar, then use the mouse buttons. Otherwise it does nothing. Just a "gripe."

On the other hand (and I think this is more likely), you may be doing it "wrong". For example, the standard X Window method of copying and pasting takes two steps: 1. Highlight the text you want to copy. This will automatically place the text in a clipboard buffer. 2. Place your cursor where you want to paste the text, and click the middle mouse button. In most programs, you can simply put your mouse pointer where you want to paste, and when you click the middle mouse button, the cursor will automatically move to that position before pasting the text. Following the above steps, I was easily able to paste this from Galeon (which is really just Mozilla): http://sildara.dyndns.org/tools/schedule.html and this one from Opera: http://sildara.dyndns.org/tools/schedule.html The Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V convention is really a Mac/Windows thing. It is supported by some X Window software (pretty much anything using QT and/or KDE libs, and I think also GTK), but not all. And because different libs even do this Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V stuff differently, those keystroke combinations may not work between some applications. I suspect this is the issue you are running into. Just stick with the X Window standard, and you will be fine. I have *never* had a problem with that.
