Hello everybody, I' ve installed mdk 8.1 on a motherboard PCCHIPS 810LMR. This mobo is a all-in-one mobo.
The integrated ethernet card works fine. The integrated sound card, a SiS 7018, is configured by mdk 8.1 but when i do "aplay file.wav" I obtain: "Using soundcard "Sis 7018 PCI Audio at 0xd000,irq 11" Playing WAVE file.wav 'file.wav': Signed 16-bit Little-Endian, Rate xxxx, Mono/Stereo... The prompt return to me after several seconds, depend on the length of the audio file but... no sound it's emitted form the speaker! Before try to reply to me, note this: The mdk8.1 alsactl give a version of 0.5.11 I've installed the alsautils package, and with the alsamixer I've un-muted the channels and take all the volume to the maximum. I've installed, _on the same computer_, a SuSe 7.2: it use the alsa package, too, in the version 0.5.10 (not .11 like the mdk). It works! I type "aplay file.wav" and: "Using soundcard "Sis 7018 PCI Audio at 0xd000,irq 11" Playing WAVE file.wav 'file.wav': Signed 16-bit Little-Endian, Rate xxxx, Mono/Stereo... I can hear the sound from the speakers. Somebody has some idea?
