OS/2 v2 ran windoze 3.x software and still does. To run newer windoze
software under OS/2 requires Odin or VPC. OS/2 remains easier to use
than either windoze or Linux. Like with Linux, uptime in OS/2 is
frequently measured in months rather than minutes. If any of the Linux
distros didn't make DOSEMU so difficult to actually use I might be able
to use it full time myself. I've installed about seven different Linux
distros without once getting Quattro Pro for DOS or WordPerfect for DOS
or any other common DOS app to run.

OS/2 is at version 4.51 as of June 2001. I'm writing this using OS/2
4.52 beta. It is also being OEM'd at http://www.ecomstation.com/. That
product is expected to shortly be using VPC to run Linux and windoze
software as well as native apps.
