Mike, I've recently done the same thing. The only difference is, is that I'm still using my original httpd.conf. (The install didn't remove it, rename it and defaulted to using it, even though commonhttpd.conf etc are there.) I'm lazy and have a bunch of virtual hosts so it was easier to use that one. I didn't need to make any mods to it to keep php working (one site is all php) The only thing I had to do was add index.php to the list of default web pages. ##################################################### # DirectoryIndex: Name of the file or files to use as a pre-written HTML # directory index. Separate multiple entries with spaces.
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm index.shtml #################################################### At that point I restarted the apache server and it ran. I did need to make mods to /etc/php.ini specific to the different websites (multiple include directories) That however should be specific to my needs not yours. Would a copy of my httpd.conf help? or at least snippets from the code?
