Mandrake 8.2beta has out of box support for encrypted file systems. In 
diskdrake you select the partition you want encrypted, and then go to the 
options, and one of them is now encrypt. Patches for the linux kernel are 
easily available if you do a google search, if you dont want to upgrade your 
distro.
