Some progress. If anyone is using the most current Cooker KDE 3.0 beta could
you help me out here?

I got the fonts in kmail all pretty and antialiased, I got sound working
properly. I still cannot resize certain windows but others are fine. I even
got KDM working again...sortof. It is acting braindead in that it comes up,
an unwanted console appears at the bottom of the screen under the KDM login
window/widget AND when I select KDE to startup, it starts Gnome instead.
Even from KDM supplied by KDE 3.0 it wont properly start KDE. I had to once
again select to login to a failsafe console and from there type "startkde" to
get it to start.

Where does the important information reside for telling KDM how to start
sessions? How does one eliminate an ugly/annoying console window from the
KDM login session?

Finally...they got rid of my favorite design system! I LOVED the System++
look. I cannot find it now. All I can find are gnarly/ugly qt stuff.

This would be the best of all possible worlds if there were no religion in it.
