Had the same problem with mine so what I did is. First edit /etc/fstab and add user to 
the line about /dev/fd0 (see the code snip below.)

*snip*
(/dev/fd0 /mnt/floppy auto 
iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,sync,nosuid,exec,user,noauto,codepage=850,nodev,unhide 0 0
*snip*

Once I did this users can now mount the floppy and unmount it.  Note permissions for 
read write follow the user that mounted the floppy so if the floppy is mounted by foo, 
bar may not be able to rw to the diskette.
