Background: Mick cannot post to the linux-mandrake lists, although he can post and send email elsewhere. The last time I forwarded one of his messages to the list, Pierre Fortin noticed that one of the headers made it look like he was sending "direcly from a dial up connection" (not sure I phrased that right). See below for what he's done since. Any more suggestions?
(Mick, Sorry, I don't have any ideas, so I'm just forwarding your note to the list. I forget whether we had posted before on the newbie or expert list, but I think Pierre Fortin and Civeleme are on both, and, in any case there are probably others who can help.) Randy Kramer Here is a quote from Pierre Fortin's earlier response: <quote> > The problem is that your friend is trying to send directly from a > dialup... this is one of the worst sources of spam, hence why Mandrake is > denying such messages:> Received: from dialup26-1.net-star.net > (206.135.73.1) ^^^^^^ > The IP address of a dialup rarely resolves in a reverse DNS lookup, so any > messages fall into this spam filter trap. > > Have him send through his ISP's mailer (sw.sowest.net) > > HTH, > Pierre </quote> Mick wrote: > > Hi again Randy, > > Okay, here is what I have tried.
