Hi Dalton ,
I have a usb camera that I have set up using the 
usb storage module.
1 su to root 
2    ps x | grep usb 
this will check that that the usdb deamon is running on your system.
3   modprobe usb-storage 
this will start the storage module 
4 if you now open harddrake your usb device should be seen under the disks 
header you can then use the config tool to create a mount point .
