Andrew.

Using a working @home here.  in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/
There is a file called ifcfg-eth0 it should look something like
mine which is.

DEVICE="eth0"
BOOTPROTO="dhcp"
IPADDR=""
NETMASK=""
ONBOOT="yes"
IPXNETNUM_802_2=""
IPXPRIMARY_802_2="no"
IPXACTIVE_802_2="no"
IPXNETNUM_802_3=""
IPXPRIMARY_802_3="no"
IPXACTIVE_802_3="no"
IPXNETNUM_ETHERII=""
IPXPRIMARY_ETHERII="no"
IPXACTIVE_ETHERII="no"
IPXNETNUM_SNAP=""
IPXPRIMARY_SNAP="no"
IPXACTIVE_SNAP="no"

(the IPX stuff is samba related) Then either reboot (the widows
way) or /etc/init.d/network restart and it should be able to
conncet. Note you need to have dhcp-client and dhcp-common
installed on your box. Do rpm -q dhcp-client and rpm -q dhcp-common
to make sure they are installed.
