In my laptop (Toshiba Satellite 4090XCDT) if I have the irda service activated it start OK, but shuting down ever give me a [Faiulure]. I have tried to conect my palm to the laptop using the fire port but without succes even using the specific configuration of Guenther Wieser (www.creative-it.com/linux/irda/toshiba_irda_howto.php).
If I go to Mandrake Control Center I can activate irda but if I try to desactivate also I have the failure message. If it is activated all the modules can be insmod without problems (irda, irlan, ircomm, ircomm-tty, toshoboe), but no palm conection :-(. My question iare: 1) Are there any methods to test if the irda is runing? 2) What could be the reason of the problem when shutting down? Thanks so much in advance for your comments.
