All,

Strange scene from inside the 8.2 goldmine. I've got an 8.2 box
sitting behind a firewall or disconnected from the net (depending on
location and time of day it's not a notebook but it is moved around for
demo's) Basically it's a pretty stock install with the updates all in
place and KDE3 installed (wanted to see what it was like, then switched
back to WindowMaker) The interesting thing is that I think I have a
Ghost (not Norton) in the box. At various times and for no conncected
reason it will switch desktops on it's own. Today the X server
disconnected and then reconnected me in the middle of reading an e-mail
(maybe I stared at the screen to hard?) The last one was the only time
I found an error message in the logs.

The root session I understand as I had a window in the background su'd
to root. Any Ideas on how to trace this one. It's annoying as heck to
say the least.

Hardware wise.
