That's it. Run mkinitrd <filename> <kernel version(as stated under
/lib/modules)> and change lilo.conf.  That's it.

The good news is that my disk speed went from 6MB / sec to 27MB / sec
with the new kernel!  Haven't tested the auto power off.

Now I have to tackle the problems!  My nvidia driver was the first thing
to stop working.  Time for a recompile (or at least try) and the sound
driver didn't load!

Maybe after all this, that KDE 3.0 upgrade won't seem so huge a task!
