SuSE has SPARC version of their distibution version 7.3, which I use in
our ultrasparc servers, working rather well (kernel 2.4.14, reiserfs, ...).

Check out UltraLinux site (www.ultralinux.org), there you can find information
of distributions which support SPARC.
Gentoo Linux seems to be most resent at the moment.
There is also project called Aurora SPARC. Aurora is a project to port 
the current Red Hat packages to the SPARC, so I guess that is closest 
you can get.
