I just updated to newer hardware. It is a gigabyte mb with a mbfastrack133 promise raid controller.
I've seen several queries on this list about IDE raid and no answers. I'm wondering if the new Mandrake 9.x is including this support into the product? It seems that more and more people are wanting to use it, myself included. I did some searching and it certainly isn't supported in the Mandrake 8.2 set, or FreeBSD! http://www.linux-ide.org/ has some support and it looks like this could be a good addition. ?? Then you will require the andre hedrick IDE patches.... http://www.linux-ide.org > - Does any one know whether it is supported in 2.4? or use the 2.4.18pre3-ac2 kernel... So for some of those that had asked questions earlier and got no answer on IDE raid, maybe this will point them in the right direction. I've not tried any of the above myself. I wanted to post this first.
