I am not familiar with the LC2000, but I worked on a Compaq server last
Friday that had some BIOS settings that you could select which OS you
were installing. It was set to Windows2000 and needed to be changed to
Linux (it actually had that as an option in the BIOS). What it is
really doing is setting the equivalent of "PNP Aware OS = No". Maybe
yours will offer a similar option.
