Use rsync instead of ftp.  I suspect you are getting some funky errors
due to trans-oceanic voyage of your packets.  rsync does an md5sum on
the data as it's being transferred.  You just have to find a mirror that
you could use rsync to get the isos at a reasonable transfer rate (then
again, a slow steady accurate transfer would be advisable to a fast one
that fails the md5sum :)
