I just got around to answering the one on the newbie list, do you pass noAPIC 
or nopentium to the kernel in the lilo.conf append statement? can you? need 
instructions? can you boot with the install cd? press f1? type rescue? mount 
the filesystems? edit /etc/lilo.conf?
