I'm sure someone here can help me with this. Say I have two Linux kernels. One, is version 2.4.19 and the other is 2.4.18. In lilo.conf, I've labeled 2.4.19 as "linux" and 2.4.18 as "linux-old". Those are now the options that show up in the LILO graphical menu at boot time.
My question: Is there anyway to prevent a normal user from booting into "linux-old"? I want to keep it on the menu as an option but I really only want it to be used if there is some problem booting into 2.4.19. Can a password be put on "linux-old" so that only someone who knows it can boot into it? If not, is there anyway to accomplish what I want? Thanks, Rick
