In addition to what kwan said, I would like to mention that kinput2 is started automatically in 9.0. I would venture to guess that in your case it may be started twice. I have my locale information in ~/.i18n and that's it -- kinput2 is started automatically and that way I achieve the same as your .xinitrc, except for 2 things: 1) You start imwheel. I've never used it so I can't help you there, I don't even know if you even need it anymore. 2) You let kinput2 read your personal ccdef file. If kinput2 is started automatically by the system you can of course not provide command line parameters to it. However, kinput2 also reads the Xresources, so you would have to give the ccdef information that way. Narfi.
