Yep, sometthing is definately wrong with Mandrake's idea of gui urpmi! I've
hated it since they spit it up into 3 pieces instead of leaving it like it
was. I know if finds some things, but for instance today I went looking for
minicom. This is a factory install with nothing changed. It does NOT find
minicom. Minicom is definately on disk2. ??

Now, I know I amd going to have to learn text based urpmi. Someone tried to
help me out a couple of weeks ago, but got the syntax wrong and I didn't have
the time to pursue it at the time. I just tried urpmi from the bash prompt to
get minicom to install.

urpmi.addmedia file://mnt/cdrom doesn't work, urpmi.addmedia /mnt/cdrom
doesn't work.

urpmi /mnt/cdrom minicom
no package named /mnt/cdrom
no package named minicom

So what would be the exact syntax to simply install minicom from /mnt/cdrom?
I've tried what seems logical but not mentioned above, including the exact
path to the package. Sorry, I'm having a brain fart I guess.
