Really? It always has this for me. Go look at http://www.cerritoslug.org/tutorials/mutt.html and look for the procmail section. There's a stanza for getting rid of duplicates. The only problem with it is that if someone cc's you and the list, then only the first one gets through (usually the direct email) so it shows up in your inbox instead of the list you're filtering to.
