I have (almost) fresh Mandrake 9.0 (just with bugfix upgrades). I'v
had gpm-vs-mc error (see:
http://www.mandrake.com/en/archives/expert/2002-09/msg01891.php
) so to fix it I've installed following packages from Mandrake
Cooker (I was reading through the changelogs and there were just
minor updates):

gpm-1.20.1-1mdk.i586.rpm (required to fix the bug)
libgpm1-1.20.1-1mdk.i586.rpm
glibc-2.3.1-6mdk.i586.rpm (required by gpm)
glibc-devel-2.3.1-6mdk.i586.rpm (required by gpm)
glibc-i18ndata-2.3.1-6mdk.i586.rpm (required by gpm)
initscripts-6.91-18mdk.i586.rpm (required by glibc)
locales-2.3.1.4-1mdk.i586.rpm (required by glibc)
locales-cs-2.3.1.4-1mdk.i586.rpm (required by glibc)
locales-en-2.3.1.4-1mdk.i586.rpm (required by glibc)

the bug was fixed, but I'v got another bug - when I run mc and hide
it using Ctrl-o and try it to restore back (Ctrl-o again) - a
'segmentaton fault' occurs. This happenes even under root, but under
root it dumps core (file: http://sorry.vse.cz/~xkrot05/core.2043.gz
).
