Given this man path setting: [root@moplx bin]# export MANPATH=/opt/perl/share/man:/usr/share/man:
it would seem to me that if a man page was present in both places, I would see the one in /opt/perl... first. But lo, and behold: [root@moplx bin]# man -aw version /usr/share/man/man1/version.1.bz2 /opt/perl/share/man/man3pm/version.3pm Why am I getting the /usr/share version first when it is the second component in the MANPATH? Notes: I tested a manpath of just /opt/perl/share/man which gets me the page I want. More curiously, reversing the order of the entries did nopt help. -- Matthew
