I've messed with any and all settings in the mixer (aumix), turning arts
on and off, and setting various types of sound server within KDE.  I've
tried running mpg123 from the commandline.  It _acts_ like it's working,
but no sound.  Just as an idiot check, I plugged the cable into ALL of
the jacks one at a time.  Nothing.  I'm still working on it.  Based on
your words, I have a sinking suspicion that I'm overlooking something
REALLY obvious.  But I'll let you know.
