Did the re-install, same problem again with the printers: cups doesn't 
install. X automatically just did fine though=:o)

As to the lilo-appends: I never got that far.
I just tried to get the Nvidia-kernel to install after rebuilding it from 
source. It seemed to install all right (after a download install-orgy of 
unsatisfied dependencies) same as the rebuilt GLX rpm and that was the end of 
it. When trying startx the screen goes black and everything hangs including 
keyboard. So a hard reboot is called for with a lot of horrible consequences.

Maybe I'll feel brave again after a few drinks and try a second time=:o)
