Olaf,

You *should* miss it.  There is no analogue in the Linux world for
either CloneCD or Blindwrite.  This is inexcusable because currently if
you have copy protected CD's these are the only ways to give yourself a
backup copy of the CD to use instead of the original.  Basically this
means that Linux users cannot make backup copies of copy protected
games.

Cdrdao will do *some* CDs, but from what I see it will not do copy
protected ones.  This is one of the reasons that I am still forced to
keep 98 around.

This is definitely something that needs to be done ASAP.  The ironic
thing is that copy protected cd's would be easier (IMO) to duplicate in
Linux than they are in winblows.  Perhaps one of the authors of the "big
two" could be talked into releasing a linux port of their software.
