I agree with you, I'm positive that there is something wrong with the CD. I am able to boot macos X, and use data CD's as well as music CD's. I use to use YellowDog Linux on my mac, and it was cool but when I heard that Linux Mandrake was available for macs I jumped all over it. I was hoping that Mandrake will do that someday and they finally have. Once I get Mandrake linux installed on my mac I will be good to go. I'm still trying to find out if Mandrake PPC uses the Altivec (velocity engine) natively, if not then I will have to get linux to use it. Once that is done, then I could have things cranking at 3.5 gigaflops. Imagine MDL ppc on a dual 1GHz power mac with the use of the velocity engine, 15 gigaflops doesn't sound too bad at all. Thanks for your response and helpful input, I appreciate it.
