Thanks Robert. I was hoping the "latest stable kernel" (according to kernel.org) would solve the "scsi everything" issue but no luck. Seems it ain't just the kernel alone causing it on this old piece of crap of mine. I think I'll just stay quiet until beta3 and/or a new version of the kernel is available.
