One possibility would be to write a script that would evaluate an installation and generate a list of installed packages for the user so he/she may select which ones to rebuild with the appropriate optimazations. Not all packages necessarily need to be platform optimized. Most of the tools for this (urpmi et al) are already in place to do the rebuild and replace the packages while avoiding dependency problems. Any takers? -- Thomas K.
