Talk about the proverbial "Ghost in the Machine" wow. The other thing I was wondering... does Windows have any kind of polling that runs over port 631? since this is the printer port by default in Linux perhaps it's a reaction to something Windows does. In other words windows spams the network, Linux receives the spam and takes what it thinks is the right action... I'm pulling at straws here but it's all I can think of. James
