It is also possible to install a cooker kernel on a 9.0 system. You just have 
to make sure that the appropriate modules (battery, fan, etc.) get loaded at 
bootup. (Put them in /etc/modules) It is therefore not necessary to recompile 
the kernel. Best yet is to wait for 9.1 final which should be out tomorrow.
