I don't know Gvim. For most things I usually use kedit or kwrite, but they don't seem to send the correct commands. I use xpp whenever I can - perhaps I should try to find that Gvim? GEdit doesn't seem to allow you to select printer or check page alignment. If you can spare the time, could you try to print 2up from Gvim, to see whether it handles it well?
