Install a minimal Mandrake with X .... and just the twm window manager. Then have the users type vncviewer -fullscreen ???.???.???.???:[desktop number] where ??? is an IP number and desktop number is the one they are to use (start vncserver 2 times and tell one person to use 0(zero) the other one to use (1) You could even put that into a little bash script in /usr/bin and they would just run the script. Then on the server side make sure if for example the desktop size on the two slow boxes is 800x600 you start vncserver like this vncserver --geometry 800x600 depth 16 This way it is the correct size for their box. If one is 1024x768 and the other is 800x600 you can actually start 2 different sizes this way. depth of 16 is recommended over 24(truecolor) as it is a lot less CPU hungery on both ends. If the connections are slow you can start the viewer with vncviewer -fullscreen -quality 6 -compresslevel 7 [ip number]:[desktop] where the lower the number the less (quality compression) the higher is of course more. I've found that below 5 in quality it gets a bit "grainy" so don't go too low. The range is 1-9 here.
