a) you can use any editor
b) you'll need to be root or use sudo
c) press F1 while in vi for help
d) i puts you in insert mode, [esc] puts you in command mode, :x saves
and closes, but if it complains about read-only file try :x! instead. :x
is a shortcut for :wq (write, quit).
e) this month's Linux Journal has a great article on vi
f) it's the universal unix editor and well worth learning
g) it's fabulously powerful and once you've learned it, you'll use it on
every computer you can get it on (thank the maker for the windows port).

did I mention that 9.2rc2 includes a gtk2 version of gvim? Yes, my vim
is purty now too :-) *drool* AA fonts, smooth icons, *drool*
