Phil ! I mannaged to save the lilo.conf but the word I edited was changing color from magenta to light blue. (vga=normal) And My framebuffer is still active. is this because this "blue" text?? It seems that linux does not recognize this command from the lilo.conf.. or skips it... Do I have to do anything else??

Yes there is another step. You must regenerate the boot sector:
/sbin/lilo -v
Before doing that, I recommend reading the lilo man pages, and the "Black Magic of Updating" http://www.mandrakesecure.net/en/docs/magic.php also explains why you have to run lilo after changing lilo.conf.
