Maybe you did not get my mail I sent to the list yesterday. I did already try all settings in lilo.conf: 'vga=ask' (and then testing all available options. I also went to the mcc and tried all available options for vga in the drakboot thingy. The problem is not the text display at boot time (I can read the messages well). It's during work when I want to go to a vt from my graphic display using Ctrl-Alt-F1 (or 2-6). Also at shutdown: The moment it normally shows the shutdown messages the screen goes blank, it's the moment the graphics driver is unloaded. I looked at the nvidia errata and FAQ. They have something about laptops but they claim that switching from a graphics display to a text display works ok. wobo
