Hi Experts!

I have posted the output of "lspcidrake" and "lspci"
on this system... they are located here:

I have a few more days of use left on a HP pavilion zd7020
desktop replacement laptop computer. I have posted to the
club website and to the cooker devel list, but with no
responses. I am not looking to get help so much as to
provide it. If there are any diagnostics I can run to
help make this system usable for others with a linux bent,
please let me know what to do, and I'll post the results!

I have not done anything with the built-in wireless adapter,
modem, PCMCIA cardslots, USB, nor IEEE 1394 hardware. If I
can run some utility to test them without needing hardware,
let me know, and I'll be happy to do it.

Time is of the essence, as I have to turn this system back in
on the coming Saturday! (08 Nov 2003)

Many thanks!

For the most part, Mandrake 9.2 installed well, except:

The touchpad/scrollpad did had to be reconfigured after
being installed as a generic PS/2 mouse. Selecting
"generic PS/2 w/scrolling" at install time resulted in
an unusable mouse-pad during the install. Re-configuring
as ipms2 after install, it works fine.

There are serious issues with the sound card and the artsd.
Running the artsd causes some very angry sounds to come out
of the speakers... All seems well with arts suspended.

The 4-in-1 memory reader, CB710 Cardbus Controller (4 in 1 reader)
was not detected, and does not appear to be usable.

The WVA display was not properly configured. I had to manually
calculate the proper mode-line entries to make it work. The
native resolution is 1440x900. Once I geve XFree86 the right
modeline, all seems to be well. The installer had no problem
with the GeForce FX Go 6500 graphics adapter.

Thanks!
-Chuck
