Hi all, I started to investigate on a part of the third goal grouping 2 items, best known under the Photos directory. The goal include the 2 following bugs: 344361 – Need to be able to select new photo repository from the command line (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344361) 337250 – Option to rename "Photos" directory and how it is organized (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=337250)
and I also add this, since it's a dup (but not closed yet since it contains a patch): http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=325166 To make it short: - 325166 is about having the Photos dir stored in GConf and modified with the Preferences panel - 337250 is about having Photos dir and dp path in gconf, no UI - 344361 is about overriding both Photos dir and db path via the commandline My thoughts: - it's *not* a good idea to let the user change the db path while f-spot is running, so we should'nt set this parameter via the Preferences panel or via Gconf - it's safe to change the Photos dir (read Import dir) when F-Spot is running, and users wants to be able to change it - overriding Photos dir and dp path should'nt change the defaults in gconf. With that, the user will be able to manage multiple photo-collections. I will now review the different patches and merge them in one Share your opinions about my thoughts... regards, Stephane -- Stephane Delcroix [EMAIL PROTECTED] _______________________________________________ F-spot-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/f-spot-list
