The Daytona National (I use the term advisedly, as an inordinate amount of available track time is devoted to practice, qualifying and 2 hour and a half ECR enduro's) was relatively well attended with 9 F500's (the miniature antelope) sharing the track with 4 FV's and 35 stampeding Water Buffalo (SRF's). All the non-Water Buffalo's that started the race concluded the race without having been run over by any of the wayward Buffalo's; that is not to say everyone finished the race....as 2 dropped out before the race was a lap old with mechanical difficulties. >From far back from the lead, the winner appeared to be Bob Berman, the pole qualifier, followed in some order by Wiley McMahon, Jim Elder, Jeff Moench, Curtis Nicewander, Chuck McAbee and Chris Hite in his National debut. All the F500's except Chris qualified ahead of the SRF's and stayed ahead of them.
