My vote on the issue, and the one that I have previously forwarded to the CRB is
500cc engines - AMW, 494 & 493 = 800 pounds 440cc engines - Chaparral & Kawasaki = 700 pounds. The CRB has implemented the 2nd part of the issue. The rules need to be kept simple and direct. None of the F500 chassis have been truly designed for more than a 800 pound minimum weight. Chris - as info - you car, I believe, was built for a driver that was well over 200 pounds, approaching 300 pounds. I don't know what, if any, additional strengthening Mike may have put in that car on account of it's original owner's bulk. The only way I could loose weight, would be too allow muscle mass to go away. I don't consider this to be a healthy option. Yes I could spend tons of money adding titanium bolts and carbon fiber, but it just seems like it would make more since to have a little more breathing room in the weight classification. I always seem to see really small jockey-like figures standing on the podium, and it is already starting to frustrate me.
